The Urhobo Kingdom of Okere
The Kingdom of Okere-Urhobo is located in Warri. Warri of course is a multi-ethnic metropolis comprising primarily of 2 Urhobo Kingdoms, the Itsekiri and the Ijaw kingdoms. Effectively the Okere-Urhobo Kingdom is in the heartland of the City of Warri.

The Okumagba family, headed by Chief Benjamin Okumagba is the Otota (Speaker) of the kingdom. He was the two term President General of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Worldwide. Chief Okumagba is one of the most prominent citizens of the kingdom.

The Okumagba family is well known throughout Nigeria for being in the forefront of and a fierce defender of the kingdom against several years of assault and attempted elimination of the kingdom by some neighboring ethnic groups. They defended the kingdom legally and physically.

Some of the well known places in the kingdom are the Okumagba layout, the Idama hotel which was burnt down then rebuilt after the Warri crises and the Igbudu Market to name a few.

Other major surrounding towns are Effurun, Agbasa and Ekpan.
