Written by

Men of the Bomb Disposal Unit of the Delta State Police Command in Asaba are also expected to join the Enerhen surveillance team soon in a bid by the police to nip the looming crisis between Udu and Uvwie over the ownership of Enerhen in the bud.

Already, three youths from Enerhen had been stabbed in a fight between the two groups and there is tension in the two communities.

Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Enerhen Police Division, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Muazu Mohammed confirmed to Vanguard when contacted, yesterday, that the police in Enerhen have waded into the matter with a view to ensuring that peace reigns between the Uvwie and Udu people.

He also confirmed that his men were on a 24-hour patrol of the Udu Bridge following intelligence information that some youths want to bomb it as a result of the dispute between the two communities, saying that he had contacted his boss, the Commissioner of Police, Jacob Oshiomogor to deploy bomb disposal experts.
